AI Check & Humanize
Worried your writing reads like it was machine-generated? Diglot scans your document, shows you which parts look AI-written, and rewrites them to sound more like you. It’s a simple two-step loop: scan, then humanize.
This is especially helpful for non-native writers. Clear, correct, predictable English often gets flagged as “AI” even when you wrote every word yourself. Humanize is the fix — it makes your text read more naturally, so your real authorship shines through.
How to find it
Section titled “How to find it”The panel is called Humanize — named for what you do with it, not just the scan. You can open it in a few ways:
- Main menu → Humanize — opens the panel and scans your document right away.
- Right-side panel → Humanize tab — opens with your last scan (if recent) or a clean start.
- Keyboard shortcut — Cmd+Shift+H on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+H on Windows. Opens the panel and scans automatically.
- Cowriter chat — just ask the assistant to check your text for AI or humanize a section.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”- Scan — Diglot reads your document and rates each paragraph and sentence for how AI-written it looks. You get a per-section score so you can see exactly what stands out.
- Humanize — pick a flagged section (or all of them) and Diglot rewrites it in a more natural, human voice while keeping your meaning.
- Re-scan — right after a rewrite, Diglot re-scans automatically so you can watch the score drop.
Want it hands-off? Turn on Auto-humanize before you scan, and Diglot will scan, rewrite everything above your chosen threshold, and re-scan — all in one click.
Reviewing changes
Section titled “Reviewing changes”Every rewrite shows up as a side-by-side change in your document: the new wording in green, the original crossed out in red. You accept or reject each change yourself — nothing is replaced silently. Click Compare diff any time to review all the edits at once.
Inline highlights
Section titled “Inline highlights”After a scan, flagged text is underlined right in your document. The stronger the AI signal, the more prominent the highlight. Click any highlight to see its score and choose to Humanize it, Ignore it, or (on paid plans) ask Why AI? for a short explanation of what triggered the flag.
Plans and limits
Section titled “Plans and limits”Scanning uses your monthly AI Check allowance. Humanizing draws from your shared rewriting allowance (the same one the Paraphrase tool uses), so there’s no separate humanize counter to track. Both reset on the 1st of each month.
| Free | Spark | Pro | Max | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI Check scans / month | 5 | 30 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Humanize | Uses rewriting allowance | Uses rewriting allowance | Uses rewriting allowance | Uses rewriting allowance |
| ”Why AI?” explanation | — | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Auto-humanize | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Second-opinion re-scan | — | — | Yes | Yes |
| Compare changes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
On Pro and Max, you can re-scan with a second-opinion check that runs your text through a different detector — an honest double-check before you submit.
Languages
Section titled “Languages”AI Check currently supports English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese. For other languages the scan button stays disabled with a short note.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- A score is a signal, not proof. A high AI score doesn’t mean your text is AI-written — it just means a detector found patterns it associates with AI. We say so plainly in the app.
- Detectors disagree and change over time. No tool can promise your text will always pass every detector. Humanize improves your odds; it doesn’t guarantee a pass.
- Rewrites replace the original. Once you accept a change, the earlier wording is gone unless you undo. (If you use the Authorship Certificate, the rewrite is recorded as part of your edit history.)
- We never claim to help you “beat” or “bypass” AI detection. The goal is honest writing that reads naturally — not detector tricks.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Will Humanize make my text always pass detectors? No. Detection is uncertain by nature and detectors update constantly. Humanize removes the patterns that get text flagged, which improves your odds, but no tool can promise a 100% pass rate.
How is Humanize different from Paraphrase? Paraphrase offers many rewriting styles (academic, formal, casual, and more) to change the tone of a passage. Humanize is focused specifically on the patterns that get text flagged as AI — flat rhythm, predictable word choice — and rewrites to sound more naturally human.
Does Humanize change the meaning of my text? It aims to keep your meaning and just change how it reads. Because every edit appears as a reviewable change, you can reject anything that drifts from what you meant.
Can I see what’s flagged before I rewrite anything? Yes. The scan shows per-section scores first, so you decide what to humanize. Or switch on Auto-humanize for a one-click pass.
Why is the panel called “Humanize” and not “AI Check”? Because the value is in the rewriting. Detecting AI is just the first step — making your writing sound like you is the point.
