Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts help you move faster in Diglot — formatting text, opening tools, and navigating your documents without reaching for the mouse. Many of them are yours to customize, and Diglot shows them in your platform’s style (⌘ on Mac, Ctrl on Windows and Linux).

Open Settings → Hotkeys to see your shortcuts and change the ones you want.

You can remap these in the Hotkeys tab.

  1. Open Settings → Hotkeys.
  2. Click the shortcut you want to change.
  3. Press your new key combination.
  4. If it clashes with another shortcut, Diglot warns you.
  5. Press Escape to cancel.

Your shortcut preferences follow you across devices through your account.

  • Shortcuts your browser reserves (like Cmd+L, Cmd+T, and Cmd+W) can’t be overridden.
  • Slash commands and dashboard shortcuts are fixed — they aren’t customizable.
  • Some browser extensions, such as ad blockers or password managers, may catch a shortcut before Diglot does.
  • Can I change the shortcut for opening Cowriter? Yes. Settings → Hotkeys → find “Open Cowriter”, click it, and press your combination.
  • Why doesn’t my shortcut work? Your browser or an extension may be catching it. Browser-reserved shortcuts can’t be overridden.
  • What’s the difference between Cmd+K and the Cowriter shortcut? Cmd+K opens the quick inline prompt right where you’re writing. The Cowriter shortcut opens the full chat panel.
  • How do I reset shortcuts to their defaults? For now, change each one back manually — a one-click reset is on the way.
