Billing & Payments
This page covers everything about paying for Diglot — upgrading, changing your plan, managing your subscription, and handling payment issues. Checkout runs on a secure, hosted payment page, so Diglot never sees or stores your card details.
For what each plan includes and the monthly limits, see Pricing & plans.
Upgrading your plan
Section titled “Upgrading your plan”You can open the billing page from the upgrade button in the sidebar, or from any upgrade prompt in the app (for example, when you hit a limit or try a Pro-only feature).
- Choose Spark, Pro, or Max and pick monthly or annual.
- You’re taken to a secure checkout page to enter your payment details.
- Once payment goes through, your new plan activates immediately — no waiting.
- You’ll see a confirmation, and a receipt arrives by email.
Upgrades take effect right away. If you had a temporary referral boost active, upgrading replaces it with your new permanent plan.
Monthly vs. annual
Section titled “Monthly vs. annual”| Plan | Monthly | Annual | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spark | $19/mo | $190/yr (about $16/mo) | ~16% |
| Pro | $29/mo | $290/yr (about $24/mo) | ~17% |
| Max | $200/mo | Monthly only | — |
You can switch between monthly and annual any time from the billing portal, and the change is pro-rated. Max is a monthly-only plan.
Managing your subscription
Section titled “Managing your subscription”Once you have a paid plan, you manage it through the billing portal: Settings → Billing → “Manage subscription” (or any “Manage billing” link in the app).
In the portal you can:
- Update your payment method
- View and download invoices
- Switch between monthly and annual
- Cancel your subscription
If you’ve never subscribed, you’ll see “No subscription yet” — there’s nothing to manage until you upgrade.
Changing or canceling your plan
Section titled “Changing or canceling your plan”Downgrading (for example, Pro → Spark, or any paid plan → Free) is done from the billing portal. You keep your current plan and features until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. After that, your plan changes and your limits adjust to the new plan.
Canceling works the same way:
- Open the billing portal and choose “Cancel subscription.”
- Your plan stays active until the end of your paid period — the app shows “Your plan cancels on [date].”
- When that date arrives, you move to the Free plan automatically.
- You can re-subscribe any time, and your data is right where you left it.
What you keep when you downgrade or cancel: all your documents and folders, translation history and glossary, Co-writer chat history, settings, and your referral code and earned word credits. Nothing is deleted.
What changes: you move to the lower plan’s AI quality and monthly limits, and any features specific to the higher plan (like Plan mode, custom templates, or extra export formats) are no longer available — but your work stays intact.
Refunds
Section titled “Refunds”We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’d like a refund, just contact support and we’ll take care of it.
If a payment fails
Section titled “If a payment fails”If a payment doesn’t go through (for example, a declined or expired card):
- The payment is retried automatically over the next few days.
- We email you with the reason and a link to update your card.
- You keep full access during the retry period.
- If the retries don’t succeed, your plan moves to Free — your data stays safe, and you can re-subscribe any time.
The quickest fix is to update your card in the billing portal.
Your free trial
Section titled “Your free trial”New accounts get a 7-day trial automatically — no credit card required. During the trial you get full Spark features (higher-quality AI, larger limits, and the extra paraphrase modes). We’ll remind you by email along the way (days 1, 3, 5, 7, and at expiry), and you’ll see an in-app reminder in the final days.
When the trial ends, you move to the Free plan automatically — all your documents and settings are kept. If you upgrade during the trial, your paid plan starts right away.
