Glossary

Your Glossary is your personal list of preferred word translations. Save how you want a term translated, and Diglot uses your choice first — every time — so a term you care about always comes back the same way across all your writing.

How to find it

Open the Glossary panel from the editor rail (look for the open-book icon). It’s a panel in your editor, not a settings page or a separate sidebar route.

The panel has two levels:

1. List — your saved terms, with search and a language-pair picker, plus a row to add a new term by hand.
2. Detail — click a term to see its translation variants.

Terms are also picked up automatically from your normal translations, and you can add new ones manually for whatever language pair you’re working in.

What it does

The Glossary is a dictionary of word translations you’ve chosen. Whenever you translate, Diglot checks your Glossary first — before it reaches for anything else — so a term you’ve pinned always comes back the way you want it. That’s what keeps recurring terms consistent throughout a document and across your projects.

Why your choices come first

When you translate a term, Diglot looks for your preferred version before falling back to its own translation. Your Glossary always wins. This is exactly what keeps names, technical terms, and key vocabulary rendered the same way every time, instead of drifting between translations.

Limitations

• The Glossary works at the word and term level — it’s not a phrase or sentence rewriter.
• It’s personal to your account; there are no shared or team glossaries.
• The detail view shows translation variants for a term; older saved entries may refresh their variants the first time you open them.

Common questions

What’s the point if Diglot already translates? Consistency. The Glossary locks in your preferred version of a term, every time, ahead of any automatic translation.

Where is the Glossary? In the editor rail (the open-book icon) — not in Settings, and not a sidebar page.

Does my Glossary override the automatic translation? Yes. Your saved terms are checked first, before anything else.

Can I add a word that isn’t in my translations yet? Yes — add it by hand for your current language pair.
